MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF <br />LOS ALTOS HILLS, CALIFORNIA <br />FEBRUARY 9, 1956 <br />An adjourned, regular meeting of the city council <br />was called to order at 8 P. M., by Mayor Sidney W. Treat, at <br />Purissima School, February 9, 1956. The following councilmen <br />were present upon roll call: Leighton M. Bledsoe, T. A. Dungan, <br />J. M. Fowle and C. Easton Rothwell. <br />Mayor Treat announced that a city clerk would have <br />to be appointed, set up a permanent salary and working schedule. <br />After due consideration, Mayor Treat appointed Mr. Henry G. <br />Paulman for city clerk.at a starting salary of $250.00 a month <br />and 7 cents per mile for mileage for use of his car. <br />A motion was made that the appointmmt be confirmed <br />by Mr. Rothwell, seconded by Mr. Fowle and carried unanimously. <br />There was a general discussion and agreed among the councilmen <br />that the city clerk should serve for a trial period of 90 days <br />to determine proper salary and in regard to duties and function <br />of office. Mr. Paulman accepted the appointment and was sworn <br />in officially by Mayor Treat. <br />Mayor Treat presented a letter from the Inter -City <br />Council of Santa Clara County which was read by City Clerk Paul - <br />man. Mayor Treat appointed Mr. Fowle and Mr. Dungan to attend <br />
