19 <br />A. Discussion and Possible Direction to Reduce the Size of the Finance and <br />Investment Committee and Remove Councilmembers as Voting Members <br />(Councilmember Waldeck) <br />Councilmember Waldeck introduced the item. <br />Council discussion ensued. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the size of the committee. <br />Allan Epstein, Los Altos Hills, stated that there are currently 11 members; 9 are <br />non-councilmembers and there is one opening at this time. <br />MOTION MADE AND SECONDED: Councilmember Waldeck moved to reduce <br />the size of the Finance and Investment committee by the two Councilmembers, <br />convert the two Councilmembers back to council liaisons with the Mayor and Vice <br />Mayor continue to serve as non-voting_ liaisons and the committee membership <br />stays at nine (9) The motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Harpootlian. <br />Motion Carried 4-1: <br />AYES: Councilmember Spreen Councilmember Waldeck, Mayor Pro Tem <br />Harpootlian, Mayor Corrigan <br />NOES: Councilmember Radford <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />B. Discussion and Possible Direction to Create an Emergency Preparedness <br />Committee (Councilmember Waldeck) <br />Councilmember Waldeck presented the item. <br />Bruce Martin, Los Altos Hills, stated that he is actively involved in the CERT <br />program and he also recently spent time at the Lake County fire and expressed his <br />thoughts on emergency preparedness. <br />Council discussion ensued. <br />Karen Lemes, Los Altos Hills, said she previously worked for Foothill College <br />and regretted that there wasn't more contact between the Town and the college.
