Presentation by a Representative of the Santa Clara Valley Water District <br />Regarding the State of California's Water Project Tax (10 minutes) <br />Jim Fiedler, Chief Operating Officer for the Santa Clara County Valley Water <br />District, presented the County's position on the State of California's Water Project <br />Property Tax. <br />Councilmembers asked questions of Mr. Fiedler and received his responses. No <br />action was taken. <br />C. Presentation on the Governor's Drought Executive Order by Purissima Hills Water <br />District and California Water Service (5 minutes each) <br />Ray Collins, Administrative Manager for Purissima Hills Water District <br />(PHWD), discussed the state water regulations. <br />Ernie Solomon, President of PHWD and resident of Los Altos Hills, informed <br />the Council that the District passed a resolution restricting outdoor watering. <br />Ron Richardson, District Manager for California Water Service, stated that Cal <br />Water customers were encouraged to start reducing water consumption in February <br />2014 to meet calls for restrictions. Additional restrictions are expected by early May <br />based on the restrictions by the State. <br />Councilmembers asked questions of Mr. Richardson and received his responses. <br />MOTION MADE AND SECONDED: Mayor Pro Tem Harpootlian moved to <br />direct the Environmental Initiatives Committee to work with staff to review AB <br />1881 with the new standards from the state; if the new standards aren't available <br />within a reasonable time, they will look at the existing model,• additionally the <br />committee shall review the Town's current water use and within sixty days return to <br />the Council with suggested changes.
