ON <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 475 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS <br /> ALTOS HILLS AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN BY ADDING THERETO <br /> PROVISIONS REGARDING SLOPE DENSITY. <br /> WHEREAS, the General Plan of the Town of Los Altos , <br /> Hills, as revised in 1963, states that Los Altos Hills is <br /> a rural residential community, that the ultimate develop- <br /> ment of the Town will be at 1-1/2 to 2 gross acres per. <br /> family unit, and that it is necessary in a low-density . <br /> all-residential city to maintainthe pattern of land use <br /> in order that the need for public facilities be minimized, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, since 1963, Los Altos Hills has experienced <br /> increased pressure for developing of lots of approximately <br /> one acre :in size ani- most' new subdivisions, and the Town <br /> has determined that this density is not appropriate in many <br /> instances, and <br /> WHEREAS, in the preface to the 1965 Digest of Standard <br /> Specifications for Subdivisions in the Town-, attention is <br /> drawn to the fact that the Town does have the option of <br /> requiring larger than one acre building sites where topography <br /> warrants, and . . <br /> WHEREAS, even with provisions such as the foregoing and <br /> the direction afforded in the Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances, <br /> the Town has found itself with the need for additional tools <br /> to implement desired policy, and, <br /> WHEREAS, in the last two years, the Town has become <br /> increasingly.: aware of the needto regulate density more care- <br /> fully in the hilly.
