ORDINANCE NO. 232 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMEND- <br /> ING CHAPTER 4 ENTITLED "SUBDIVISIONS" OF TITLE 9 ENTITLED <br /> "PLANNING AND ZONING" OF THE LOS'-ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> The City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills DOES ORDAIN <br /> as. follows- <br /> SECTION I . AMEMDMENT OF CODE. Chapter 4 entitled "Subdivisions" of <br /> Title 9 entitled "Planning and Zoning" of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "The Subdivision Law of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills" <br /> and consists of fourteen Articles, containing Sections and subsections, which <br /> are more specifically the following: <br /> ARTICLE I. TITLE, PURPQSESt AND OBJECTIVES.. <br /> Secti6n�9=.4:1Q1 .­ `Title.. This Chapter shall be known and referred to in its <br /> erittrety as the 'Subdi'visi'on Law of the Town of Los Altos Hills" . <br /> Section 9,4.lQ2: Purposes. The provisions of this chapter are enacted for <br /> the. pul^pose of pnomoti,ng the public h.eaith, safety, convenience and general <br /> welfare in the Towne of Los Altos Hills and are adopted to regulate the sub- <br /> divtslon of land to require the provision of certain prescribed improvements <br /> which, are needed i-n consequence of the subdivision of land in order to achieve <br /> the, fol l ow ng purposes-; <br /> ('4 To Insure the development of land in a manner consistent with the <br /> general community objectives set forth in the General Plan; <br /> (b7 To insure that all subdivisions and the development of land conform <br /> to the primary objectives of providing for a permanently wholesome rural resi- <br /> dentral environment i,n the Town; <br /> N) To protect property- in the Town against deterioration and obsoles- <br /> cence <br /> (d To preserve and protect the natural beauty and the established char- <br /> acter of the community and, through good design, to provide for a harmonious <br /> relationship between completed subdtvisions and the natural environment; <br /> (e),- To provide lots of adequate size and appropriate design for the pur- <br /> poses for which they are to be used; <br /> (f�- To protect the community against excessive storm water runoff, soil <br /> eroston, earth- movement, earthquake, and other geological`lhazards; <br /> (0 To .facilitate law enforcement and fire protection through orderly <br /> design and development and the provision of adequate facilities and improve- <br /> mentsj, <br /> l_Q_ 'To insure at the time of subdi'visi'on the provision of an adequate <br /> water supply, storm drainage, sewage disposal , and other utilities, services, <br /> and improvements needed as a consequence of the division of land; <br /> (i) To insure that governmental costs are minimized by requiring the <br /> i.ns-tallation of improvements of adequate size and quality; <br /> (a� To provide for streets of adequate capacity, with appropriate im- <br /> provements: to provide access to abutting property, to carry the anticipated <br /> t:rafffc and to insure that streets are designed to minimize potential safety <br /> Hazards to vehicles and their occupants , pedestrians, and equestrians; <br />
