'b N <br />ORDINANCE NO. z 3 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING THE <br />LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING THERETO PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL SITES. <br />The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does hereby <br />ordain as follows: <br />SECTION 1. There is hereby added to Title 9 of the Los Altos <br />Hills Municipal Code a new Chapter 6, to read as follows: <br />"CHAPTER 6. PROTECTION OF HISTORICAL SITES. <br />Sec. 9-6.01. Designation of Historical Sites. <br />The Council may, from time to time, based upon <br />evidence presented to it, find and determine that <br />a particular site within the Town has significant <br />historical or archaeological value, and designate <br />such site as a Historical Site. For purposes of <br />this chapter the term "Historical Site" shall mean <br />any site so designated pursuant to this section or by <br />appropriate state or federal authority. <br />Sec. 9-6.02. Protection of Historical Sites. <br />No person shall damage, deface or destroy or cause <br />to be damaged, defaced or destroyed any Historical <br />Site without prior written approval of the Council. <br />Sec. 9-6.03. New Developments Involving Historical Sites. <br />No project, including without limitation mining, <br />road building, real estate development, deep plowing, <br />land leveling or recreational use, which might endanger <br />any Historical Site, shall be undertaken without prior <br />submission of a written report assessing the impact of <br />such project upon such Historical Site. Said report <br />shall be submitted to the City Manager, reviewed by <br />him for adequacy and accuracy, and submitted with his <br />ROBIN O. FAI9ANT <br />AL ..
