Y_ s <br />(40 C%VtNANCE NO. 225 J J <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE 4 OF THE LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL <br />CODE ENTITLED "EMERGENCY SERVICES" <br />The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ordain <br />as follows: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the <br />Los Altos Hills Municipal Code hereby is amended to read as follows: <br />TITLE 4. PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Chapter 1. Emergency Services <br />Sec. 4-1.01. Purposes. <br />The declared purposes of this chapter are to provides for the preparation <br />and carrying out of plans for the protection of persons and property within <br />the Town in the event of an emergency and to provide for the coordination of <br />the emergency functions of the Town with all other public agencies and affected <br />private persons, corporations, and organizations. Any expenditures made in <br />connection with such emergency activities, including mutual aid activities, <br />shall be deemed conclusively to be for the direct protection and benefit of the <br />persons and property within the Town. <br />Sec. 4-1.02. Definitions. <br />For the purposes of this chapter, "emergency" shall mean the actual or <br />threatened existence of conditions of disaster or of extreme peril to the <br />safety of persons and property within this Town caused by such conditions as air <br />pollution, fire, flood, storm, epidemic, riot, earthquake, or other conditions <br />including conditions resulting from war or imminent threat of war, but other <br />than conditions resulting from a labor controversy, which conditions are or are <br />likely to be beyond the control of the services, personnel, equipment, and <br />facilities of this Town, requiring the combined forces of other political <br />subdivisions to combat. <br />
