Y_ s (40 C%VtNANCE NO. 225 J J AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE 4 OF THE LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED "EMERGENCY SERVICES" The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code hereby is amended to read as follows: TITLE 4. PUBLIC SAFETY Chapter 1. Emergency Services Sec. 4-1.01. Purposes. The declared purposes of this chapter are to provides for the preparation and carrying out of plans for the protection of persons and property within the Town in the event of an emergency and to provide for the coordination of the emergency functions of the Town with all other public agencies and affected private persons, corporations, and organizations. Any expenditures made in connection with such emergency activities, including mutual aid activities, shall be deemed conclusively to be for the direct protection and benefit of the persons and property within the Town. Sec. 4-1.02. Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, "emergency" shall mean the actual or threatened existence of conditions of disaster or of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property within this Town caused by such conditions as air pollution, fire, flood, storm, epidemic, riot, earthquake, or other conditions including conditions resulting from war or imminent threat of war, but other than conditions resulting from a labor controversy, which conditions are or are likely to be beyond the control of the services, personnel, equipment, and facilities of this Town, requiring the combined forces of other political subdivisions to combat.
