SECTION 3. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Section 6-3 . 02 "Receptacles" <br /> of Chapter 3, "Garbage, Refuse, Swill, Water Matter, and <br /> Recyclables" of Title 6 entitled "Sanitation and Health" of the <br /> Los Altos Hills. Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows: <br /> Except as otherwise set forth in Section 6-3 . 03 of <br /> this Chapter, all garbage, refuse, swill, and waste <br /> matter shall, by the person upon whose premises the <br /> same shall have been produced or accumulated, be placed <br /> in a watertight, galvanized metal or plastic container <br /> of not less than ten (10) nor more than thirty (30) <br /> gallons net capacity, of a design approved by the <br /> Health Officer or other person designated by the <br /> Council, which container shall be kept clean and <br /> continuously closed by a tight-fitting, galvanized <br /> metal or plastic cover, except when garbage, refuse, <br /> swill or waste .matter is being dumped within or removed <br /> therefrom, and which shall be proofed against the <br /> access of flies and rodents. The contents of such <br /> containers shall be delivered not less than once a week <br /> to the scavenger authorized by the Town to collect such <br /> contents in accordance with the provisions of this <br /> Chapter; provided, however, that a household or other <br /> occupancy may be exempted from mandatory garbage <br /> collection by the City Manager if the occupant demon- <br /> strates in writing how garbage and other wastes are <br /> disposed of in ways that are equal to or better than <br /> the authorized scavenger collection. <br /> All recyclables shall, by the person upon whose <br /> premises the recyclables shall have been produced or <br /> accumulated, be placed in a box or other container. <br /> The contents of such containers shall be delivered not <br /> less than every other week, on the same day as the <br /> delivery of the garbage container, to the scavenger <br /> authorized by the Town to collect such recyclables in <br /> accordance with the provisions of' this Chapter. <br /> SECTION 4. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Section 6-3. 04 "Collection: <br /> Time, Manner, Vehicles" of Chapter 3, "Garbage, Refuse, Swill, <br /> Water Matter, and Recyclables" of Title 6 entitled "Sanitation <br /> and Health" of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code is hereby <br /> amended as follows: <br /> Collection of garbage, refuse, swill, and waste <br /> matter shall be made at every household or other occu- <br /> pancy at least once a week; provided, however, that a <br /> household or other occupancy may be exempted from <br /> mandatory garbage collection by the City Manager if the <br /> occupant demonstrates in writing how garbage and other <br /> wastes are disposed of in ways that are equal to or <br /> better. than the authorized scavenger collection. <br /> 2 <br />
