Presentations from the Floor (continued): <br />d) Irm Goldsmith - President Historical Society calnenta3 that the proposed <br />park would fulfill the need for a place to keep historical m rabilia and <br />would be an inspiration to the residents of the Town. <br />NOTION SECONDED AND CARHIF9: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Allison and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to gratefully accept Mrs. Taaffe Reed's gift <br />and to proceed with plans for an agricultural historical park with the Mayor <br />to appoint a committee. <br />I yq'�Y U99�'� Ism M UI • Y2 lyk, <br />1. City Manager: <br />a) Report on tractor/backhoe <br />The City Engineer referred to his report dated 8/3/83 in which he recommended <br />rebuilding the engine of the tractor/backhoe. He noted that a bid had been <br />received of approximately $6,230 to rebuild the engine with the understanding <br />that the cost may incresae if additional problems were discovered. <br />Frank Saul, 27977 Via Ventana, objected to only one bid and suggested the City <br />Engineer discuss matter with Taaffe CenStrVctien Ccupany for advice and <br />another bid. <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CAIdUED: Moved by Proft, seconded by van Tamelen and passed <br />by the following roll call vote to authorize payment of a mexinmm of $6,230 for <br />repairs to the tractor/backhoe, employing the most economical approach. <br />AYES: Mayor van Tamelen and Councilmenbers Perkins and Proft <br />MES: Mayor Pro Ten Allison <br />A,BSMg1': Comcillmenber Hillestad <br />b) Building Inspection - recommendation <br />WrION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Proft and passed unani- <br />mously by all members present to authorize the City Manager to hire a Building <br />Official/Code Administrator and to approve the proposed job description and salary <br />range. <br />c) Status of refinancing Tewn Radios <br />The City Manager, at the request of Mayor Pro Tem Allison, reported that there <br />were two options: 1) to enter a one year contract or 2) to pay off the Motorola <br />contract. This matter would be on the agenda for 8/17/83. <br />2. City Engineer: <br />a) Lot #10 - Matadero Creek Subdivision <br />The City Engineer reported that the accuracy stated in Mr. Nowack's letter of 7/19/f <br />was satisfactory for the stage of construction on Lot #10. <br />-4- <br />
