^ STAFF..REPORT; <br />1 1. Landscaping Report -Survey of Landscape Requirements in New <br />Subdivisions -Cities in the Counties of San Mateo and <br />Santa Clara. . <br />The City Manager submitted landscaping survey for Council <br />perusalwith no specific recommendation since the Planning <br />Commission is discussing this project as a continuing item <br />of its Agenda. <br />ACTION: <br />That the landscape survey be forwarded to the <br />Planning Commission for its study and recommendation.. <br />MOTION: Bowler; SECOND: Aiken; VOTE:: Passed unanimously: <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. Planning Commission Appointment. <br />Walter A. Benson was appointed to the Planning Commission to <br />fulfill the unexpired term of Commissioner Proctor Mellquist. <br />This term has now expired. <br />.ACTION: <br />That Commissioner Walter A..Benson be reappointed <br />to the Planning Commission £or term o£ £our (4) <br />years, expiring April 5, 19�•`"' <br />.MOTION: Bowler; SECOND: Aiken <br />Councilman Bowler commented he would be interested in seeing <br />a change in the practice of fulfilling unexpiredterms.. <br />The Question was called.. VOTE: Passed unanimously.. <br />P. Study of Increased Lot Size on Steep Lands. <br />City Manager read letters from property owners Mrs. K. Carberry, <br />and Harold Wood and Irene M. Griswold (Mrs. Harold Wood) <br />protesting any action which would reduce and change the require- <br />ment for one acre per dwelling. <br />Councilman Aiken proposed the following Motion for the purpose <br />of clarifying and defining Town Policy as stated in the 1959 <br />General Plan and General Plan Revision of 1963 regarding a <br />specific formula for steep areas.. There have been requests <br />I �from the Planning Commission to better define this area of <br />Town policy, as well as numerous requests from residents of <br />the Town who feel that the rural character of the steep land <br />cannot be preserved unless the acreage is increased.. <br />-2- <br />
