COMMITTEE REPORTS: Traffic Studs (Cont'd.): <br />It was discussed that a resolution to obtain the consent and <br />ratification of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors <br />would be required. <br />The Question was called. VOTE: Passed unanimously. <br />ACTION: <br />That the Council authorize the Mayor to ask the <br />Los Altos Hills Association to carry out the <br />second recommendation of the traffic report by <br />making a thorough study of pedestrian and vehicular <br />traffic in the Town. <br />MOTION: Aiken; SECOND: Bowler <br />Councilman Henley arrived at 8:12 r. 11. <br />Councilman Aiken explained the ultimate intent behind the <br />motion is that a Standing Safety Committee be formed to be <br />composed of (but not limited to the Association) residents <br />of the hazardous areas - a Committee to whom the Town's <br />people could meet with on all safety and traffic problems. <br />Recommendations would then be made by the Los Altos Hills <br />Association and brought before the Council for action. <br />The Mayor distributed a sign-up sheet throughout the audience <br />for volunteers on this Committee. <br />Mr. Gardner Bullis pointed out very dangerous and long existing <br />situations at Miranda and Manuella on Fremont Road. Mr. H. P. <br />Corney, 14127 Miranda Road, commented on lack of double yellow <br />line on Fremont Road, and. Mrs. A. Micheletti inquired of paths <br />abutting Foothill College. Messrs. A. C. Carmichael, W. R. <br />George, G. Austin, and Mrs. S. R. Jackson, as well as several <br />members of the Dad's Club of St. Nicholas School, commented <br />on the traffic problem. <br />The Mayor requested the Los Altos Hills Association submit a <br />sense report within 30 days to augment Councilman Aiken's <br />traffic study. <br />The Question was called: VOTE: Passed unanimously. <br />T77U RTT IT NFRA- <br />1.
