ROSEHILL ESTATES: Deferred to end of Agenda at request of applicant. 473 <br />OTHdR BUSINESS: 436 <br />Councilman Benson questioned the status of the retaining wall to protect <br />the deep cut on a lot in the Heuuaeter subdivision. City Engineer re- <br />ported the cut will be protected as soon as possible. <br />PART TIME SANITARY INSPECTOR - Report of City Manager: 497 <br />City Manager read Staff Report with recommendations regarding a part <br />time sanitary inspector, dated September 28, 1967. <br />It was the concensus of the Council to take no action on this matter <br />until the final report of Metcalf & Eddy is received. <br />Regarding a new ordinance for sewers, Councilman Aiken read a prepared <br />statement as follows: -1 believe the Town should set standards for septic <br />systems based on present day knowledge instead of witchcraft, and <br />institute a system of required regular inspection and maintenance. The <br />cost of this could be carried by fees.'' <br />STAFF REPORTS <br />City Engineer: City Engineer submitted revised Assign of non -vehicular 557 <br />l bridge with rounded edges as requested by Council on 8/21/67, and which <br />CJ will be a part of the Standard Specifications. <br />J i-Liyor advised the City Engineer to proceed with approval from Council. <br />City Attorney: City Attorney explained letter fraa Mr. Allen Grimes, of 580 <br />the California Code Service dated September 14, 1967 regarding codifica- <br />tion of the Town's ordinances, and City Manager's comments dated September 25, <br />1967 on Mr. Grimes' letter. Staff was instructed to send copies to Council. <br />Cit Flina er: City Manager reported the cost of acquiring the tape recorder 626 <br />was $116.68 and requested Council approval to purchase a fireproof file <br />cabinet fox the tapes. No action was deemed necessary by the Council since <br />this purchase could be included in the prior authorization for the recorder. <br />City Manager reminded the Council of the 69th Annual Conference, of the <br />League of California Cities in San Francisco, October 15-16, 1967, which <br />Councilmen Benson and Davey, City Engineer, City Attorney and City Manager <br />will attend. <br />PRESEIQTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR: 635 <br />1) Stanley W. Corbett, III, 26,40 Anacapa Drive, spoke on the subject of <br />available copies of the Metcalf & Eddy Report. City Manager reported that <br />copies of the Progress Draft are limited, but that a copy is available at <br />the Town Hall; however, the final report will be -available for circulation <br />to the public. _ <br />2) Mrs, R. C. Casey, 26646 Laurel Lane, spoke on the subject of Sewer <br />UAssessment District No. 3. <br />3) Mrs. D. Spencer, 27490 Sherlock Road, spoke on the subject of the Steers <br />Use Permit. <br />-5- <br />
